ABOUT ME

I'm Australian and was raised there.  Upon finishing school in Melbourne, I was offered a place to study Business Marketing at degree level at Swinburne University. I deferred after 2 years to travel the world and pursue a more creative career path.

I settled in London and live in both Essex and West London to this day and have so for 20 years.  

I went on to train and work in the blogging and makeup/beauty industry and have a Diploma in Photography and Media Makeup and have been in the Beauty and Makeup industry for almost a decade.

​

I have worked with amazing teams for London Fashion Week including being part of the London School of Makeup Pro team and have worked with well known brands such as Dior, Wella, Vidal Sassoon, L’Oreal Professionel, Oxfam, Marks and Spencers food, Hermes and more. I have also worked for clients on various photoshoots, bridal hair and makeup and bridal parties, business head shots and more.

I am also PA to well renowned Makeup Designer Astrid Kearney on various gigs and help support and assist execute her designs.

I also taught hair at London School of Makeup and trained budding makeup artists how to create hair designs to compliment their makeup work.  That made up the Dressing Hair Diploma course.  This course included braiding, hair up and styling.

I can create any makeup look, due to the diverse training and experience I've had, depending on the brief.

I am a Session Hairstylist after training with the amazing Kevin Fortune at his academy in Central London.

​

I am also author of melindaktickel.com, which is online and on Instagram and has followers and subscribers in excess of 40K.
